The Calvary Music Ministry, also known as the POGs or “People of God”, is a dedicated group of talented voices and musicians that help lead worship at the 10:30 a.m. contemporary worship service at Calvary Episcopal Church in Richmond, Texas. Members come from many backgrounds and range in age from High School to retirement. This dynamic team of musicians and voices offers selections tailored to the readings and the message for a particular Sunday.
Often, their Sunday offering is a unique blend of the newer more modern worship music combined with the tradition of ancient hymns. Each Sunday, songs and hymns are performed with a choir, acoustic and electric guitars, percussion, bass, keyboard, and other instruments such as a harmonica and banjo. The team strives to serve God through the varied talents He gifts upon each member and together they offer this ministry to the Calvary congregation.
Members share their talents of voice and instruments; some share both. Some are professional musicians, some are amateurs, but they all have one thing in common, a love of Jesus Christ. And, that love is reflected in the voices and instruments they raise in praise during worship each Sunday.
